Xmas and New Years

A very Merry Xmas and a super Happy New Yerar to everyone. Just thoguht I'd check in and let you all know that the next chapter of SotN will be updating int he new year... I'm typing my little fingers off... promise.

Chapter 9 - In the Cold Night - Teaser

A short while later after what felt like the longest drive ever I stop outside Bella’s darkened house and turn the Impala’s rumbling engine off.

“So...” Bella starts saying as bites her bottom lip.

I want to reach out and pull her across the stick shift into my lap and do that to her lip myself. Every rational part of me is telling me that I shouldn’t. I’m a hunter. There is no place for relationships in my life and Bella can never be just a roll in the hay as I pass through town on my way to another job. She deserves more. I wish I could be the one to offer her more but my lifestyle doesn’t allow for it.

“What’s wrong, Edward?” Bella asks turning towards me. “What are you thinking?”

“That I can’t...” I trail off unsure about how I would explain this to Bella. How do you tell someone that you want them but don’t want them at the same time?

“That you can’t what, Edward?” she asks sounding a little angry. “That you can’t kiss me then run away from me? That what you did was wrong?”

“Bella,” I sigh, looking away from her and out my window. “I shouldn’t have kissed you, it was wrong and I apologise.”

“Kissed me? Edward, I don’t know if you noticed but I kissed you back.” I look back at her at that moment and find Bella only inches away from me. “I wanted to kiss you,” Bella breathes and I can smell her sweet scent before it caresses my skin. She smells like lilacs and rain.

“Bella...” I start but before I’m able to continue she pushes her soft lips against mine, her tongue gently requesting entry.
